Manifesting, the law of attraction and the missing pieces of the puzzle...

This week I’m guided to write about manifesting and the law of attraction. This topic has been in my thoughts for some time now and now that the Tarot has confirmed this week’s topic, I’m excited to see what comes through!

Let’s begin at the beginning…

When we think about manifesting and recent teachings about the law of attraction we think of vision boards, we visualise, we write lists of qualities that we hope to find in a prospective partner, we think of things that we ‘want’ and ‘desire’, things that we want to own, have and be, right?

When we think of all that, we find ourselves thinking about and desiring things that we don’t have in the present. We want more money, we want a better house, car, partner, holidays, whatever it is, we want something that we don’t have right now. We’re trying to manifest something from nothing - from a state lack or scarcity.

The missing pieces of the puzzle…

We’ve been led to believe that all we need to do is visualise what we want, place some pictures on a vision board, and then...we wait for the stars to align...and somehow, our dreams magically come true. What we haven’t been told is that there are some integral parts of the puzzle that are missing - the first, is the part about setting goals and formulating an action plan. How can you manifest something without taking action towards its creation?

Earlier this year I found myself writing down goals for the year ahead. Sounds simple enough, right? I read articles and followed people who told me to dream big, they seem to have it together, so I figured it couldn’t hurt. I read more, I did my best to implement their strategies, but something just didn’t feel right - I pushed on figuring that soon enough something would budge and I’d break through...nope, actually things came to a screeching halt and I found myself feeling lost, confused and on my knees asking the Divine, yet again, to help me. I was doing what I was being told would work, but it wasn’t - what gives?!

Missing piece of the puzzle

What I received, lovingly, supportively in that moment of surrender was an inspired thought telling me that I was doing the right things, but they weren’t right for ME. Well, the tears flowed, I felt a little silly for a while and then I found the strength to get up and do my best to figure out what it was that would work for me; taking into account my experiences, my dreams, and digging deep to recover the parts of mySelf - including limiting beliefs that would guide me out of this darkness, back into the light and into the stream of abundance that I could feel flowing freely all around me.

Now for the second piece of the puzzle. A short time later as I lay in bed - which is when inspiration often strikes - I had the thought, ‘what if I reduce that number (my income goal for the year) to something that I believe I can achieve?’ - I did and things began to shift almost immediately. Within days I was receiving orders and making sales.

If we don’t believe we can achieve something then what’s the point in pursuing it - all we do is expend energy, attention and time that would be best spent elsewhere. We become our own worst enemy.

How does the Universe get it so wrong?

What we need to know - and remember, is that the Universe doesn’t see the photos you have on your vision board, it doesn’t see the dollar amount you’ve written on sticky notes and posted up all over your house. The Universe responds to our vibration - each time we think of something we emit a vibration that reflects how we feel about whatever it is that we’re thinking about.

So, what we need to be aware of, is that if we come from a place of lack when we work to manifest the things that we want, the Universe picks up on our vibration which is anxiety, uncertainty, feelings of lack and scarcity, maybe even wanting what others have in the form of jealousy or envy, and this is what you’ll receive more of. Why? Because these feelings are amplified each time you think about them, so the Universe picks up this consistent vibration and gets to work on your behalf to bring you more of what you’re thinking about.

Whilst all this is going on, you’re also running your old programs - your limiting beliefs - in the background. For instance, you’re asking for more money, but one of your beliefs about money is that you can’t or shouldn’t make more than your family, then how can you receive more money?! Deeper inner work would help you to look at feelings and beliefs around unworthiness, your current level of self-esteem and self-confidence. This is something that we can reach with the Heal Your Limiting Beliefs reading.

When we know better, we do better!

Can you see how you may have been going about this all wrong? It’s not your fault, it’s not anyone’s fault - it’s just the way it has been up until now. What I’ve learned is that we can only do what we know. We can only do that with the knowledge and skills that we have at that point in time. If we want to be more, do more, know more, then we need to upgrade our current knowledge and skills so that we can achieve more. In doing so, we open ourselves up to another level of existence. We begin to live a step above where we’ve been up until now - new things begin to open up to us that we couldn’t even conceive of before.

Where to now?

Now that you know a little more about how it works, bear in mind that this is the tip of the iceberg - this is a huge topic and one blog post won’t cover all aspects of manifesting and the law of attraction.

It is my intention that this post has inspired you to begin your quest into discovering your limiting beliefs - the old programs that are running in the background, discovering your current knowledge and skills gaps, making a note of your goals and working out the vibration that you’re emitting around these. Then bringing it all together to find, and use what works for YOU.

Be gentle with yourself as you embark upon this journey, it’s not something that can be accomplished in a few hours or a weekend, although you will be able to discover a lot about yourself in a few hours or a weekend that can launch your journey into the wonderful world of manifesting.

Gratitude, thank you, prayer

Gratitude and keeping it simple…

It’s crucial to express gratitude for what you have in your life now so that your vibration begins to increase and you begin to attract more ‘like’ vibrations to you.

Begin now and list at least three things that you’re grateful for each day. You can do this first thing in the morning, during your lunch break, on your commute, or last thing at night once you’re all tucked into bed. You can do this exercise as many times as you like - the more the better!

You can write your list down, you can type it up, you can simply smile each time something wonderful happens and say an inner ‘thank you’ to Source, your Angels, your Higher Self, for bring that thing or person into your life. The more you’re thankful for, the more things you’ll find to be thankful for.

Sounds pretty simple, doesn’t it? That’s because it is. The simpler you keep things the easier it will be. If it sounds too simple, too good to be true, give it a go anyway - it won’t do any damage!
