10 September 2018 - New Moon @ 4.02am AEST
This New Moon has been significantly different to many that we’ve experienced this year. The usual quiet of the Dark of Moon period - the two-three days in the lead up to the New Moon - has been a little unnerving - it’s been noisy and unsettling, causing many to feel off-balance.
There are a lot of adjustments taking place beneath the surface that are part of a bigger transformation that we’re not privy to yet. The details are unravelling and being sorted and we will be shown/told what to do when the time comes. But for now, we must keep on placing one foot in front of the other and continue to do our best, no matter what it is that we are working on.
This New Moon has been energetically enhanced by a lot of different energies. Her energy in her natural state is to provide us with the space to reflect on where we are on our journey. She helps us to feel into what is in need of love, attention and affection - because we can’t quite see what is in front of us in the darkness of this phase, unlike the Full Moon phase where things are illuminated.
I’ve discovered over the last year as I’ve worked more closely with the Moon, that the New Moon phase is not the phase to begin calling in what we want.
The New Moon phase is when we take a breath, go within and feel into what is preparing to be released, it’s when we clear the slate as much as possible so that we can begin to tune into the energies that are knocking at our door.
It’s not until two-three days later, at the crescent phase that we begin to write our goals and set our intentions for the remainder of the lunar month - it’s at this phase, as her surface begins to become illuminated with the Sun’s rays once again, that Her energy begins to pick up. This is the optimal time to put pen to paper.
So in the two-three days before and after the New Moon gift yourself some time to reflect, to contemplate, to clear the slate for what is preparing to enter and let me know how you feel this time next month.

The energy of this New Moon is accompanied by the energies of recent celestial movements and alignments:
2 September: Mercury leaves the retrograde loop
Mercury begins to pick up speed and realigns to his natural state of being, we may very well encounter periods of confusion and uncertainty as we feel that our inner and outer worlds are out of balance - they are not, of course - what’s taking place is an energetic alignment of release, surrender and healing as we begin to become aware of the energetic downloads of the August Lion’s Gate and the surrounding eclipses.
3 September: Venus enters the retrograde loop
Venus mirrors our relationships with each other and she informs us of our tastes regarding beauty, comfort, sanctuary, and all that brings us peace and joy, including the material abundance that facilitates the acquisition of these things.
This month, as she prepares to turn retrograde on 6 October, relationships with Self and others will be in the spotlight so that we can begin to heal and surrender what no longer serves us during the retrograde period until 16 November when she turns direct once again. Don’t be surprised too, if you find yourself preparing to release physical items that no longer ‘fit’ your lifestyle and/or tastes. You’ve changed so much already this year, so it only makes sense that your tastes have also changed.
6 September: Saturn turns direct
The next few weeks might feel a little clunky as Saturn begins to re-establish her boundaries and starts to bring form and structure to the energetic shifts that have taken place for us since her retrograde cycle began back in April.
As we begin to morph into our new energetic templates, it’s important to pay attention to what surfaces as this is what will be our focus as we head towards the end of 2018.
When Saturn’s energies are harnessed positively, we feel: cool, calm and able to handle what comes our way; we become aware of surrounding possibilities and take measures to counteract missteps, but if we do encounter missteps or detours, we quickly regroup and create a new plan of action; we take practical action and don’t get too caught up in the old emotions and mind games that surface as we embark upon new ventures/projects.
When we don’t harness her energies positively, we feel: fearful - at this point it’s important to take a step back and look at the bigger picture, making and taking time to delve into the energies of the fear so that we can dissolve and unravel them; we can feel uninspired and dull and this is due to feeling disconnected from our Soul’s calling; we feel limited - in terms of what we feel that we can actually accomplish, and especially when it comes to envisioning our future so that we can begin to call it in - remember, the Universe responds to our vibration, not the words or pictures that we use.
Mercury into Virgo
Mercury is ruled by the sign of Virgo, providing us with supportive energies to do what we need to do within the scope of Mercury and Virgo energies and dynamics.
When harnessed positively, Mercury highlights the analytical mind, brings clarity, and helps us to be productive. When we don’t harness Mercury’s energies positively doubt creeps in and we become uncertain about even the most mundane things.
Mercury in Virgo has the potential to make us super critical of Self and others. It helps us to sense when others are not acting with integrity - BUT before we point fingers, we are asked to reflect on Self to ensure that we can clearly see the origin of any reflections/projections.
These energies offer the ability to think creatively, helping us to apply our gifts and talents and accomplish what we’ve set our mind to. We are open to learning what we don’t know, becoming resourceful along the way and finding new and creative ways to apply what we know and love to do into viable avenues that can bring financial security into our world.
8 September: Grand Trine: Mercury, Uranus, Saturn
The Grand Trine between Mercury, Uranus and Saturn brings to our awareness what it is that drives us, what brings fulfillment and what we are willing to do in order to accomplish it. This is ‘beneath the surface stuff’ that we’re dealing with here, not ‘safe, surface level stuff’ that we can gloss over and sidestep if we choose to.
We’re talking about: ground-breaking insights, inspiration and enlightenment; lightning-fast transformation; tapping into the revolutionary spirit; taking steps towards the fulfillment of the Call of the Soul; learning what we’ve come here to learn; conquering fears; building a stable foundation for the future with heart- and Soul-centred intention; honouring the Call of the Soul, knowing that it might require some detachment from those closest to us as we go off to explore the Self.
Whilst this celestial aspect is supportive, it does ensure that we delve just that little bit deeper (and yes, into slightly uncomfortable territory) so that we can recover just what it is that we need in order to bring about the transformation that is within reach.
The brave will venture within and deeper than ever before, those who pretend that this isn’t occurring will struggle, as anything that isn’t in alignment with the energies of the moment will bring about more and more challenges and tension until they surrender to the fact that this growth, whilst uncomfortable at times, is actually here to assist in their individual growth and that of the collective.
9 September: Venus into Scorpio
Venus mirrors our relationships with each other and when she moves into Scorpio things might get intense, fiery and/or steamy.
Venus represents our self-esteem, self-worth and self-value. She speaks of beautifying our life so that we are able to be surrounded by what brings us feelings of love, peace and contentment, helping us to go out into the world feeling invincible.
Scorpio represents transformation, power, depth and intensity.
11 September: Mars into Aquarius
Mars turned direct on 28 August and it’s on 11 September that he moves into air sign Aquarius after having completed his retrograde loop sojourn.
It will be interesting to see how this air sign fans the flames of fiery Mars until 16 November when he moves into water sign Pisces.
For now, Mars helps us to get clear on what it is that drives us, what fulfills us, and he helps us to tap into our Purpose, providing the assertiveness, the energy and the motivation to see things through to completion, urging us forward and helping us to discard what is not needed for this next stage of the journey.
