The Full Moon is the midpoint of the lunar cycle - at this stage of the cycle we are called to look at the full picture of what it is that we are working towards or dealing with in our life.
When Grandmother Moon reaches 100% illumination there is not much that will remain hidden from us, yet at the same time, if we focus too much on one area we will be doing ourselves a disservice because we will effectively be preventing ourselves from seeing the full picture, which is where the details reside.
At the Full Moon and up to two to three days after, it is necessary to finish up the task at hand - the projects and works that we’ve been working on since the New Moon or even from an earlier cycle - remember not everything that is started at the New Moon is meant to be completed by the Full Moon of the same lunar cycle; each project has its own time frame, yet we sometimes forget that this is the case and attempt to take on way too much, which leads to overwhelm.
So if you’re feeling overwhelmed, panicky or anxious, take some time and see what actually needs to get done, and leave the rest for another time. Leave some space in your schedule for YOU because sleep may be affected and old unresolved emotions can surface at this time and you’ll need that buffer to recharge your batteries. It’s important that you utilise the tools and resources at your disposal to help nurture yourself over the next week.
♍ Virgo energies…
In general, Virgo energy is concerned with details - it looks things over with a fine-toothed comb, ensuring that everything is up to scratch. Its perfectionist tendencies tend to slow things down more than is necessary. It puts more emphasis on having things look right rather than having things that are actually functional and practical and getting them out into the world where they are needed. Virgos are careful, methodical, hard-working, self-critical, and have a tendency to over analyse things. They like to help others and they like to do it in a gentle and nurturing manner - if you’re ever nurtured by a Virgo, you’ll most definitely know it.
🌕 Super Full Moon in ♍ Virgo energies…
The Virgo Full Moon is a super moon - you might have noticed her increasing brightness over the last week. She’s a super moon because she is closer to Earth than during other times in the lunar cycle. You can read more about this phenomenon here
This month, Grandmother Moon brings to light the areas of our life where details are important - you may have been neglecting certain things because you just haven’t had the time, or you chose not to look at them, but the current energies are letting you know that it’s important to tend to the Self, and to the details in and of our lives and work.
Now is a great time to harness the energies of the Virgo Moon and get to work on planning the details of whatever it is that you’re working on - do make sure though, that you don’t get so caught up in the planning process that you forget to actually take action.
The February 2019 Energy Reading goes into detail about the energies of the Sun in Pisces, you can check it out here, but when we look at the influence of the Full Moon in Virgo as well, we see that what’s happening is that our emotional world is in the spotlight and this is causing tension with the part of us that just wants to get to work on the details that are also in the spotlight at this time.
The tension part comes into play when we’re neglecting our emotional needs and choosing (for whatever reason) to focus on the projects and tasks that we feel anxious to get to work on instead. Our emotional needs have to be our priority at this time - set aside some time in the morning and/or in the evening to get in touch with whatever is attempting to get your attention - not sure where to start?
Pay attention to any niggling aches or pain in your body as well as thoughts that keep popping up over and over again; these are your starting points. We are being called to feel into what’s going on within us so that we can clear the way in order to begin doing the work that we’ve come here to do. The old energies of victimhood, excuses and whatever else we conjure up to keep ourselves from moving forward will only cause more discord and dis-ease for us now and into the foreseeable future.
Our ability to visualise what we want for ourselves and our lives is strong right now, especially since we find ourselves yearning for something more, something more expansive, something that brings new perspectives and knowledge, but we need to couple that with the practical knowing that those things can take time to plan and manifest.
For now, it’s about communicating our deepest desires and emotions - whether we communicate these to Self or others doesn't make much difference, what’s important is that we voice it. It will also help to get out of our comfort zone for a little while - take a short trip or an afternoon drive somewhere different - you just never know what inspiration you’ll return with.
